Measure your jump the same way every time.

Test your approach jump one of three ways. Film it and mark when your feet leave the ground and when they land. Or measure your reach and your touch. Or use a Vertec or a jump mat.

The frame counter in the app: a clip of a running dunk paused on frame 25 of 45, the jumper at the rim, filmed at 30 frames a second; a scrub bar with the time in the air marked between the two frames; step buttons (back 10, back 1, play at a quarter speed, forward 1, forward 10); the result, "Your jump: 28.4 in", which could be 26 to 30.9 in from 23 frames in the air, with a tip to film in slo-mo and a note that last time was filmed at 60 frames a second; both marks set, and a Use this jump button.
Why it helps

Most people guess their vertical, or measure it a different way each time.

The app remembers how you tested and only compares tests done the same way.

  • Video: play it at a quarter speed, zoom in, tap Feet leave and Feet land. The app works out the jump from your time in the air.
  • Your jump day is a test day the first time, after a deload, and six weeks after your last test.
  • A test's video is saved with it, so you can watch it again in Your tests.
  • With coaching, your AME coach checks the two frames you picked.
