The short version

Athlete Made Easy collects what you give us to run a training app — your account, your athlete profile, your training and nutrition logs, and (if you use coaching) your chat with your coach. We use it to run and improve the product — nothing else. No ads, no tracking of you personally, no selling or renting your data — ever. (Our website keeps anonymous visit counts — no cookies, no identities — so we know which pages work; the app itself has no analytics or tracking SDKs.) Delete your account any time: your access closes right away and your account is hidden. If you don't restore within 30 days, we then remove your personal details and keep your training data only in anonymized form to improve our programs; your coach messages are held for a review window before being deleted — the details are below.

Athlete Made Easy is run by Connor Barth, a sole proprietor based in Orlando, Florida. Questions about anything below: connor@athletemadeeasy.com.

What we collect

Account. Your email address and a password. Sign-in is handled by our auth provider (Supabase); your password is stored hashed — we never see it.

Athlete profile. Name, birthday, sex, height, weight, sport background, and training history — the details that let programs fit you instead of a generic user.

Training data. Workout logs, daily readiness / soreness / pain self-reports, assessment results (with an optional verification video if you choose to record one), and your body-weight history.

Nutrition logs. The foods you log, with calories and macros. When you scan a barcode or search for a food, the barcode or search text is sent to our server, which looks it up with our food-data provider (FatSecret or the Open Food Facts database, depending on configuration). Only the barcode or text is sent — never your name, email, or anything that identifies you — and we don't keep a history of your lookups.

Coaching chat (paid tier). If you're on the coaching tier, the messages, photos, and videos you exchange with your coach.

Billing (paid tier). If you subscribe to coaching, a customer and subscription reference from our payment processor so we know your plan is active. Your card details go to the processor, not to us.

Reminders. Training reminders are scheduled on your device and shown by your phone's notifications — they never reach our servers, and we don't send remote push from a server. The app asks for notification permission during onboarding so it can show them, and you can turn them off anytime in Settings.

Launch list. If you joined the email list on this site, we have that email for updates. Every message has an unsubscribe link that works.

Why we collect it

The main reason is to run the product. Your profile shapes your programs, your readiness and test results steer the training, your nutrition logs feed your targets, your history draws your progress charts, and your chat connects you with your coach. Your email is used to sign you in and for service messages that matter — password resets, or changes to the waiver, these terms, or this policy.

We also use your training data to improve the product — refining our programs and training framework. Connor may review your identified data for this (the same access described under "Who can see it"); any analysis across athletes, and anything shared or published outside Athlete Made Easy, is de-identified. This research use is on by default, and you can turn it off anytime in the app under Settings → Data use. (Collecting your data to run the app and coach you isn't optional — that's what makes the service work — but this improvement use of it is yours to decline.)

We never use your data for advertising, and we don't run third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the app. Our marketing website uses cookieless, anonymous page-view counting (Vercel Web Analytics) — it can't identify you and is never linked to your account.

Where your data lives

Database and accounts — Supabase, hosted in the United States.

Photos and videos — Cloudflare R2 (a storage service), in the United States. Media links are signed and short-lived; there are no public URLs to your videos.

Email delivery — a transactional email service sends account emails (like password resets) on our behalf.

Payments (coaching) — if you buy coaching, our payment processor (Stripe) runs the transaction and holds your billing details; we only receive a customer and subscription reference, never your full card number.

App updates — the app checks for over-the-air updates through Expo (EAS Update). At launch it sends your device platform, the app and update version, and a random per-install identifier — no account or profile data.

These providers process data only to provide their service to us — they don't get to use it for their own purposes.

Who can see it

You. Everything you put in is visible to you in the app.

Connor and your coach. Training data (profile, logs, readiness, tests, nutrition, chat) is visible to Connor and, if you have one, your assigned coach — that's how coaching and product improvement work.

Nobody else. We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or hand it to data brokers. Program outcome stats may be shown in anonymous aggregate only (for example, "average improvement across athletes who finished this program") and only once enough athletes have completed it that no one can be identified. Beyond those public aggregates, improving our training is a core purpose of the product: Connor may review your identified training data (the same operator access noted above) to refine our programs, and any cross-athlete analysis or anything shared or published outside Athlete Made Easy is de-identified. This improvement use is on by default and you can turn it off in Settings → Data use; it never means selling your data or identifying you to anyone outside Athlete Made Easy.

The only exception: if the law genuinely requires us to disclose something, we will — and we'll tell you unless we're legally barred from doing so.

How long we keep it

While your account is active — we keep your data as long as your account exists, so it's there when you come back.

When you delete it — your access closes immediately and you're signed out. For 30 days you can restore the account by emailing us; after that, the next steps are permanent. We remove your identifying details (name, birthday, and the like) and keep your training data only in anonymized form — no longer linked to you — because de-identified training data helps us make programs better for everyone.

Your coach messages are kept for a 90-day review window (so an account can be looked into if there's ever a concern) and then permanently deleted, media included. Under-13 accounts are the exception — they're fully deleted with nothing retained (see "Kids").

Photos and videos are purged from storage by our cleanup process within about a day of the record that references them being removed. Residual copies in our database provider's routine encrypted backups expire on the provider's standard schedule.

Your rights and controls

See it — your data is in the app, on your account, not hidden in a warehouse.

Delete it — fully self-service: in the app under Settings → Delete account, or on the web at athletemadeeasy.com/account. It takes effect immediately; what we keep afterward, and the 30-day window to restore, are described in "How long we keep it" above.

Everything else — want a copy of your data, a correction, or have any other request (including rights under laws like GDPR or the CCPA)? Email connor@athletemadeeasy.com and we'll sort it out.

Opt out of the research use — using your de-identified data to improve our programs is on by default, but you can turn it off anytime in the app under Settings → Data use, with no effect on your training. (Collecting your data to run the app and coach you is required to use the service — that part isn't optional.) If you also want us to stop using sensitive information for anything beyond running the app, or to exercise any other right under laws like GDPR or the CCPA, email connor@athletemadeeasy.com.

Kids

Athlete Made Easy is for ages 13 and up, and the app enforces that at sign-up. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we'll delete it and its data (as the U.S. COPPA law requires). If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email connor@athletemadeeasy.com.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date. If a change meaningfully affects how your data is handled, we'll email account holders before it takes effect.
